FOresIght successfully starts Phase 2

The ZIM cooperation network for function integration and new surfaces in automotive interiors (FOresIght) initiated by ZENIT GmbH has a positive outlook for further three years of operation.

The ZIM cooperation network “FOresIght – Functional integration and new surfaces for the automotive interior of the future” was successfully launched on 1 November 2018 with 37 partners from the automotive industry, including seven small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), twelve universities and research institutes, ten associated partners and eight international SMEs along the entire value chain (OEM, Tier 1-3) in Phase 2, with a period of further three years, starting on 1 November 2018.

Development projects that can be initiated by the network include, for example: – the development and implementation of antibacterial surfaces in vehicle interiors, – the use of hybrid materials (e.g. back-injected real materials such as wood, steel or stone) for the individualisation of design surfaces, – the implementation of traces in cladding parts to increase the connectivity of displays and interior functions (e.g. lighting, temperature, individual surface design) with other utility products (smart phones, etc.).
