ZENIT announces Innovation Award https://foresight-automotive.com/2019/09/20/innovationspreis-der-zenit-ausgeschrieben/?lang=en Fri, 20 Sep 2019 11:44:20 +0000 https://foresight-automotive.com/?p=5289 “Cooperation projects for digital topics of the future” is the competition theme of this year’s innovation prize, which the ZENIT e.V. network presented as part of the ZENIT anniversary on 11 September. The aim is to find technologically oriented cooperation projects between companies and start-ups (not older than five years) or between companies, start-ups and universities/research institutions on digital topics of the future.
The cooperation projects must have already begun at the time of application, but must not have been completed. The central evaluation criterion is the innovative character of the submitted projects, whether with regard to the joint development of digital technologies, products, processes and/or services or the development of new, digital business models. In addition, the jury also evaluates the degree of agility of the project cooperation between the cooperation partners. A partner must be based in NRW. For the fifth time, the patron is NRW Minister of Economics and Innovation Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros, the closing date for applications is 15 December.

Thomas Eulenstein, Chairman of the Board of the ZENIT e.V. network, is pleased about the ninth round of the competition: “For almost 20 years, the prize has helped to strengthen North Rhine-Westphalian SMEs in various fields of innovation. Moreover, with this instrument we offer companies and cooperation partners from science a really attractive platform to present themselves as innovative players to a broad public. In addition to the prize money for the winner, all finalists receive professional PR support with lasting publicity and a free one-year membership in the ZENIT e. V. network.

Background network ZENIT registered association:
The 1984 created network ZENIT registered association is a forum of entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. It developed from the commitment of medium-size participants and represents approximately 190 predominantly technology-oriented enterprises. The aim is to accompany them and make them fit for the diverse requirements of the constantly changing markets.

The association is also internationally networked with members from the Netherlands, France and Russia and consistently expands the cross-border networking and thus the sustainability of its members.

Our 36 network partners (classic medium-sized companies, R&D facilities but also large industrial companies (OEM, Tier 1/2)) had the opportunity to get to know each other better in a business matching organized by the network management of ZENIT GmbH. 98 discussions had been organized.

The new (international) partners thus had the opportunity to make business contacts and present their products, services and R&D ideas to potential customers. GENERATIONDESIGN GmbH, one of our SME network partners, provided the rooms in the Elba Zukunftswerk in Wuppertal and created a design-oriented, open atmosphere in the Coworking Space.

The innovation network, founded in November 2017, started with 19 German partners and currently has 36 network partners, including six international partners from Switzerland, the UK and the Netherlands.

The goals are, among others, to initiate innovations in automotive interiors and thus, for example, to ensure competitiveness through knowledge transfer between R&D institutions and companies as well as easy access to funding.

Network membership is possible at any time.

Review of the Future Interior Summit 2018 https://foresight-automotive.com/2018/12/07/rueckblick-future-interior-summit-2018/?lang=en Fri, 07 Dec 2018 08:30:19 +0000 https://foresight-automotive.com/2018/12/07/rueckblick-future-interior-summit-2018/ The first Future Interior Summit 2018 took place on 20/21 October in Böblingen, the successor to the SV Conference “Automotive Interior”.

With the megatrends of mobility – electrification, autonomous driving, connectivity and car sharing – traditional values are shifting. Thanks to innovative technologies, the desire for individuality, comfort and quality of life is finding new fields of play – especially in the interiors of tomorrow’s vehicles. Understanding customers’ needs in these areas and offering them convincing solutions will determine future market success.

Exciting discussions about future trends were one of the main reasons for attending the conference. Like already in the last year new network partners for the FOresIght network could be won and also the awareness of the network was increased. Beside the specialized conference the company Bertrandt could be visited. We were able to gain good insights into the work of the service provider through the guided tour of the factory premises.

IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018 https://foresight-automotive.com/2018/09/25/iaa-nutzfahrzeuge-2018/?lang=en Tue, 25 Sep 2018 12:34:21 +0000 https://foresight-automotive.com/2018/09/25/iaa-nutzfahrzeuge-2018/

Transporters, buses and trucks – commercial vehicles are an essential part of our lives. Today, we can choose from many goods worldwide that are delivered directly to our homes. This would not be possible without freight transport and logistics. And it is commercial vehicles that are heading for the last mile. With a share of over 70 percent in transport performance, they form the backbone of our transport and economic system. At the same time, they serve as service providers and chauffeurs. They dispose of our waste, help with removals and rescue operations and drive the children to school or us to work. Commercial vehicles keep our everyday lives running, so to speak.

On the occasion of the 67th IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover from 20 to 27 September 2018, the question arises as to what the future of commercial vehicles will look like. The entire commercial vehicle industry is on an innovative road. As in many other branches of industry, the focus is on automation and networking, safety, environmental protection, electromobility and new concepts for logistics and transport in the city of the future.

The IAA Commercial Vehicles takes place every two years in Hanover and is the world’s leading trade fair for transport, logistics and mobility. It offers a unique cross-section through the entire value chain of the industry, from vehicles to transport and logistics, from manufacturers to the many medium-sized suppliers.

The FOresIght team also explored trends in the commercial vehicle industry to identify possible implications for automotive interiors at an early stage.
