IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018

IAA Commercial Vehicles 2018

Transporters, buses and trucks – commercial vehicles are an essential part of our lives. Today, we can choose from many goods worldwide that are delivered directly to our homes. This would not be possible without freight transport and logistics. And it is commercial vehicles that are heading for the last mile. With a share of over 70 percent in transport performance, they form the backbone of our transport and economic system. At the same time, they serve as service providers and chauffeurs. They dispose of our waste, help with removals and rescue operations and drive the children to school or us to work. Commercial vehicles keep our everyday lives running, so to speak.

On the occasion of the 67th IAA Commercial Vehicles in Hanover from 20 to 27 September 2018, the question arises as to what the future of commercial vehicles will look like. The entire commercial vehicle industry is on an innovative road. As in many other branches of industry, the focus is on automation and networking, safety, environmental protection, electromobility and new concepts for logistics and transport in the city of the future.

The IAA Commercial Vehicles takes place every two years in Hanover and is the world’s leading trade fair for transport, logistics and mobility. It offers a unique cross-section through the entire value chain of the industry, from vehicles to transport and logistics, from manufacturers to the many medium-sized suppliers.

The FOresIght team also explored trends in the commercial vehicle industry to identify possible implications for automotive interiors at an early stage.
