Follow-up article: 2nd Conference "Innovations in Automotive Interiors" at the Mercedes-Benz Museum

On 12.09.2019, the second conference “Innovations in Automotive Interiors” took place within the framework of the ZIM cooperation network “FOresIght – Functional Integration and New Surfaces for the Automotive Interior of the Future” at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart with more than 80 participants from the automotive industry.

The aim of the conference was to present current technological developments, examples of solutions or also questions in automotive interiors from your company/ R&D facility within the framework of the conference. The focus will be on networking actors along the entire supply and value chain, technology transfer between research and industry, and discussion and exchange among the actors.

Future innovations need new qualities of trend implementation, intensive examination of future requirements, and the development of new, innovative production networks. The following technology areas are taken up by the FOresIght network and reflected with different groups of participants, in order to flow into FuE projects.

New HMI concepts e.g. sensor technology / communication in the vehicle interior
Functional surfaces in the vehicle interior
Hybrid material systems e.g. real material back injection in the vehicle interior

New interface technologies e.g. antibacterial surfaces
