Financing the green and digital transformation of the European economy is a mammoth task for politics and society, for companies in the real and credit economy and for financial supervision. There is a serious need to systematically simplify European regulations and create the right incentives to finance the transformation. According to current estimates, investments totalling €600 billion will be required in Germany alone by 2030. In order to achieve success here, the tasks and financing must be spread across many shoulders and players to a greater extent than has been the case to date.
Digital technologies in particular can contribute almost a quarter of Germany's 2030 climate target. This is an enormous volume, as Germany must save 39 million tonnes of CO2 per year by 2030 in order to achieve its climate targets. This can only be achieved if the sustainable transformation of our economy picks up speed.
What needs to be considered, which solution attempts exist and how the perspectives of affected companies look like will be the focus of ourr event on 22 August 2024 (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) in Düsseldorf. It will take place under the joint umbrella of Düsseldorfer Finanz Forum (DFF), BANKENNETZWERK and FinConnect.NRW and will provide an opportunity for discussion.
The BANKENNETZWERK organises and implements specialist events and community activities on banking and financial topics. The events offer opportunities for networking and open, cross-institutional and cross-sector dialogue.
You can look forward to keynote speeches and panel discussions with Christian Otto (President of the Head Office in NRW, Deutsche Bundesbank), Anne Schaefer (Managing Director of PSD Bank Rhein-Ruhr), Henrietta Six (Managing Director of Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf), Dr Peter Stemper (Managing Director of NRW.Bank), Bernd Meyer (Project Manager Fin.Connect.NRW) and Dr Stefan Hirschmann (Member of the Management Board of VÖB-Service GmbH, a company of the Association of German Public Sector Banks, VÖB).
