On 20 August 2024, we will be hosting an online webinar on "Sustainable Finance and Taxonomy Audit with AI" as part of the series “Fin.Connect.NRW informs: Financing new paths - An introduction to transformation financing”.

The joint consideration of digital transformation and sustainability transformation leads to synergies and new innovations. ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) has become an important lever for value generation. If implemented correctly, sustainability offers great opportunities for more growth, higher profitability and an increase in company value. On the other hand, the risk universe has expanded, for example due to liability risks or a lack of consideration of sustainability in the corporate strategy. Due to new regulations such as the CSRD and the EU taxonomy, supervisory authorities, the public and investors are placing increasing importance on ESG-compliant behaviour. At the same time, many companies are facing considerable difficulties in collecting all relevant data and information completely and correctly and incorporating it into their reporting. The Twin Transformation is the overarching goal of realising social and environmental sustainability goals together with the accompanying digital transformation, thereby driving economic change and shaping it in a socially meaningful way.

Artificial intelligence offers companies numerous opportunities, but how can these be utilised in a targeted manner in the interests of sustainability? In times of rising cost pressure, increasing regulation and a growing need for innovation, companies are faced with the challenge of developing sustainable solutions that support ecological and economic goals in equal measure. This is where the transformative power of AI comes in: It offers innovative approaches to optimise processes, use resources more efficiently and meet regulatory requirements at the same time.

The webinar will take place online from 12 noon to 1 p.m. The speaker will be Dr Stefan Hirschmann from VÖB-Service GmbH.
