The competitiveness of the German economy is currently being intensively discussed in public. Against the background of dramatically increased energy and wage costs, bureaucratic burdens and a lack of innovations and workers, the danger of “de-industrialization” is even seen. Financing options also play a crucial role in the competitiveness of German companies. Five days before the European elections, we asked the Federal Finance Minister: How is the German financial market positioned within Europe? What obstacles need to be removed in order to improve the framework conditions for corporate financing in this country? When will there finally be substantial progress in implementing the Capital Markets Union?
